FOODSPORT is co-cooperating with Cheer Lutheran Center "We Cycle IV Bike Guide and Volunteer Training Program" again this year in co-organizing "We Cycle IV x FOODSPORT Sheung Shui Guided Bike Tour" on 22 May 2022 (Sunday).  Where We Cycle tour guide will take you to explore the beautiful and historic community of Sheung Shui District, passing by the famous Tsung Pak Long, Bok Man School, Long Valley and Hau Ku Shek Ancestral Hall by bike. Let’s ride and donate calories together!

 

All burnt calories will be collected and be donated to our season 2 beneficiary “Jockey Club Food Grace Kitchen” to provide care and assistance to the underprivileged. Online registration will be available online from now until 13 May (1200 noon).

《About We Cycle IV Bike Guide and Volunteer Training Program》

The Cheer Lutheran Centre has been engaged in drug abuse prevention and drug rehabilitation for many years, and has been sponsored by the Anti-Narcotics Fund to continue the three-year We Cycle Bike Guide and Volunteer Training Program. All trained The tour guides are all former drug addicts. The plan hopes to help them escape the sea of drugs and build a positive life through bike guided tours and volunteer training. Individuals become volunteers of this project and serve the community with drug addicts!

《BAG DROP

Limited bag drop will be provided but please come light and don’t bring a valuables and to keep personal belongings carefully. FOODSPORT will not be responsible for any deposited items.

《NOTES FOR THE EVENT & BIKE SAFETY

  1. For safety reasons, participants must follow the instructions given by the on-site instructors.

  2. Participants must have experience cycling techniques and proper use of road safety.

  3. Participants must abide by the Hong Kong Traffic Regulations.

  4. Participants are required to wear a cycling helmet during the event to ensure their safety. Any participant who is not wearing a helmet or using it incorrectly will be refused entry to the event.

  5. Participants should check the performance of their bikes and the safety of their equipment before start.

  6. If participants bring their own bikes, they must choose bikes that are up to standard in accordance with the Transport Department's cycling safety rules and regulations, and must comply with the organiser's arrangements and announcements on the event day and pass the inspection of the event.

  7. If participants bring their own bikes, they must bring safety devices such as helmets, head and tail lights, reflectors, etc.; and bring their own spare tires and other related tools, no maintenance service will be provided.

  8. On event day, we will set Max 4pax per group.

  9. Participants are advised to eat before the activity to have sufficient energy for the activity.

  10. Participants should prepare enough light food and drinks to maintain their energy. <Lunch time 1300-1400,pay for yourself and request Leave Home Sage>

  11. Participants must wear suitable clothing and light equipment and are advised to use a tail bag instead of a backpack if necessary.

  12. If participants feel unwell during the activity, please notify the staff immediately, and the staff will arrange a safe place to rest.

  13. Participants may choose to buy or not to buy any insurance according to their personal needs.

  14. For safety reasons, participants will not be allowed to use other types of bicycles such as three-wheeled bicycles, four-wheeled bicycles (with auxiliary wheels), two-person bicycles and family bicycles, etc.

  15. Participants who do not know how to cycle and no experience are not recommended to participate in this event.

  16. Please respect the nature by LEAVE NO TRACE. Be responsible to your own rubbish.

  17. In response to the instability situation relating to the coronavirus, we will make changes and adjustments of the Government's social distancing rule.

《NOTES FOR THE EPIDEMIC

  1. Participants who have visited provinces / regions at high risk of the epidemics in the past 21 days before the event date (22/5) are advised not to attend to ensure the health and safety of other participants and staff.

  2. Participants register and attend this event, which represents that he / she is voluntary, and are willing to bear all the responsibility. The organizers and other relevant agencies are not required to bear any responsibility or any property damage or lost, injury or death.

  3. To ensure the health and safety of other participants and staff, we will perform infrared thermometer to measure the body temperature when the participants during registration. If the temperature is higher than normal (37 degrees Celsius), that participant please MUST drop out the event.

  4. All participants MUST wear a mask during non-activity period.

  5. Prepare for epidemic prevention, please bring disinfection and cleaning supplies to keep your hands clean (such as: alcohol hand sanitizer, disinfection wipes ..)

  6. In response to the instability situation relating to the coronavirus, we will pay high attention to the epidemic situation.  If the epidemic continues to spread, we will consider for canceling or changing the activity method, and announce the arrangement on 20 May afternoon.

 

《BAD WEATHER ARRANGEMENT

  1. On event day, if typhoon 3 or above typhoon signal, Red / Black Rainstorm Warning is issued, the organizer(s) will make announcement on FOODSPORT Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/foodsport.hk) at least TWO (2) hours prior, to confirm the event status. Participants will NOT be informed individually on the event updates. Therefore, please stay tune with our Facebook Page.

  2. During the event, in case of weather instability, due to the safety of the participants and instructors, we will find shelter at a covered and safe ground until the rain eased off before continuing.

  3. On event day, If bad weather is issued, the organizer(s) will refund the registration fees (HK$100) to participants. The refund procedure will be notified by email.

  4. FOODSPORT will consider the event cancel which is according to the on-site situation and environment condition.  Participants will NOT be informed individually on the event updates. Therefore, please stay tune with our Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/foodsport.hk).

  5. In case of any dispute, FOODSPORT reserves the rights on all final decisions.

《HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR CALORIES 

FOODSPORT will be calculating the calories burnt according to the person data of every individuals (such as; Gender, Age, Weight, exercise duration and intensity etc.) All burnt calories will be converted into the equivalence amount of calories worth of food for FOODSPORT's seasonal food donations, donated to our beneficiaries and the needy directly.

《ENROLLMENT 

The Online Enrollment starts now until 13 May 2022 (1200 noon).

FOODSPORT will announce the list of the selected participants at FOODSPORT Facebook Page on 16 May 2022 (1200 noon), the confirmed participants will receive the confirmation & payment notification mail at 3pm on the following day.
