About the event
Yau Ma Tei is an old urban district in Hong Kong with a high concentration of grassroots residents, where poverty and housing issues are relatively acute. Many elderly people live in old walk-up tenement buildings without lifts. Every day, they struggle up and down the stairs to make ends meet. Some of them live alone, lacking care and social contact.
FOODSPORT’s Q3 2026 food donation volunteer event will take place on the morning of Saturday, 17 October. During this event, we will donate all the food (calories) collected between July and September to our seasonal beneficiary, Gingko House. Volunteers will deliver food packages in person to elderly singleton households across Yau Ma Tei via home visits.
These food parcels do not only bring sustenance, but also convey care and warmth from the community. We sincerely invite you to sign up and spread kindness through action.
